About Pastor Shawn
I’m Pastor Shawn Miller. I’m ordained and licensed through Christian Global Outreach Ministries, and registered with the Ohio Secretary of State to solemnize marriages. My ministry entity is Faith Harbor Ministries, LLC, based in Ohio.
I built this practice for a simple reason: too many couples and grieving families end up with an officiant who treats the moment like a job to get through. A celebrant who’s clearly read a script three times today already. A funeral director scrambling to find someone — anyone — who can show up.
That isn’t what these moments deserve. Weddings and funerals are some of the most important days of your life. They deserve preparation, prayer, presence, and someone who understands their weight.
Whether you’re a couple I’ve never met or a family I’m meeting for the first time at the worst week of your year — I’ll show up ready.
Common questions
For weddings, 3–6 months in advance is typical, but I take last-minute bookings when my schedule allows. For funeral services, I make every effort to be available on short notice — sometimes within 24–48 hours.
I’m an ordained Christian pastor, but I serve all couples and families regardless of faith background. Christian ceremonies are my default; interfaith, secular, and civil ceremonies are equally welcome. I’ll work with you to honor what you’re comfortable with — not impose what I’m comfortable with.
Once you reach out, we’ll schedule an initial conversation (in-person, by phone, or by video — whatever’s easiest). I’ll learn about you and what you want the ceremony to feel like. From there, I draft a personalized script, share it with you, and we refine together until it feels right.
Yes — throughout Ohio and to nearby states for the right ceremony. Travel beyond the immediate area may include a small mileage fee, which we’ll discuss upfront. No surprises.
For funeral services especially, I keep some flexibility for last-minute calls. Please reach out as soon as you can and I’ll tell you straight whether I can serve you. If I can’t, I’ll do my best to recommend another pastor I trust.
A small deposit secures the date. The balance is due before the ceremony. Payment by check or electronic transfer; I’ll send a simple invoice from Faith Harbor Ministries, LLC. No hidden fees, no upsells, no add-ons.
Life happens. If a ceremony is canceled with more than 30 days’ notice, your deposit is fully refundable. Inside 30 days, it’s applied as credit toward a future ceremony date. If something unforeseen happens on my end, you receive a full refund and I help find a replacement.
